Earlier today we wrote about Wes Anderson’s 30 second teaser for his upcoming film Isle of Dogs. Now, the time has come to feast your eyes on a whole two-and-a-half minutes! With a confirmed release date of 23 March 2018, the trailer depicts a Japan 20 years from now where “canine saturation has reached epidemic proportions”. After an outbreak of dog flu, Mayor Kobayashi calls for a hasty quarantine of all dogs to “Trash Island,” I.e the Isle of Dogs.

Here, a feisty and resilient group of dogs band together in order survive their miserable existence, disillusioned by their previous human companions. This all changes when 12-year old Atari crash lands on the island in search of his lost dog “Spots” and the dogs join “the little pilot” to help him complete his mission. What appears to ensue is a tale of corruption, courage, friendship and the importance of a young boy’s pet.

Isle of Dogs is Anderson’s second feature-length animation – after Fantastic Mr. Fox – and will star Bryan Cranston, Greta Gerwig, Bill Murray and many other noteworthy names. The much-anticipated film will hit cinemas on 23 March 2018.
