Design studio Uniform has created a CGI cityscape made to look like folded paper, to be used with a VR headset for an animated virtual tour of Greenwich Peninsula in London.

The delightful scene depicts Uniform’s vision for the future of the area in an immersive animation called The Future’s Unfolding, made in collaboration with The Beautiful Meme. During a recent event visitors were given cardboard VR headsets emblazoned with the slogan See the Future Unfold, which when fitted with a smartphone allows the user to view the film in 360 degrees. The 150 acre area surrounding the O2 arena is currently undergoing a major regeneration.

The campaign forms part of Uniform’s wider project for Greenwich Peninsula, which has seen them create an interactive CGI paper world with design studio Made Thought for the development’s website and marketing app. This can be viewed all the way from bird’s eye view to ground level, where geometric paper-like characters walk their dogs and talk on their phones — a refreshing and fun alternative to the cheesy graphics property developers usually resort to.
