Topsafe founder Freddie Fraser Forsyth has published Casebook, a new magazine hoping to offer “an impressionistic view of contemporary independent film-making in Britain and beyond”. Designed by Michael Bartz, the “No Issues Issue” contains words and stills from a list of contributors including Bafic, Coco Capitan, Petra Collins, Mark, Frank and Tyrone Lebon, Archy and Jack Marshall, and Will Robson-Scott.

The launch will take place tonight at the ICA as part of an event hosted by Stop Play Record and Topsafe — a platform which showcases the new work by independent filmmakers. Alongside talks from directors, films from nine directors will be screened including Will Robson Scott’s documentary God Loves Ugly, is “a portrait of life in South Chicago”, a short documentary by Hector Dockrill about the life of Rajai, a young Londoner, an animated music video by Jack Marshall, made for his brother Archy Marshall also known as King Krule. Films will also be shown by Bafic, Tom Gould, Dear Mr. Quistgaard, Steven Brahms, Michael & Paraic Morrissey. As part of the Casebook launch, there will be live performances from Sonic Verse, Edgar the Beatmaker and Jamie Isaac.
