Save the Children launches Phoneless Friday

Date
27 September 2016

Save the Children has launched Phoneless Friday, an initiative challenging partakers to ditch their phones for an entire day to raise money for the charity, and help save children’s lives around the world. The campaign was art directed by James Wright with photography by Jon Enoch.

Can you unglue your eyes from the glowing oracle in your hands for an entire 24 hours? Use an IRL map, or that actual camera that’s gathering dust in a drawer somewhere; remember things without Googling them instantly, talk to people face-to-face, or – dare we say it – miss all those Instagram posts for a whole day?

The tongue-in-cheek campaign “isn’t about digital detox or wellbeing”, but a test of determination and willpower, so a team effort (otherwise known as peer pressure) might help.

If you’re up to it, sign up here, pay £5 and lock up your phone for Phoneless Friday on 7 October.
