CAN + Nina Shen Poblete: RIBA Portland Place for RIBA Regent Street Windows 2016

The Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) has launched this year’s Regent Street Windows, an annual series of shop window installations by the UK’s most exciting emerging architecture studios.

This year department store Liberty joins the line-up with a window by Architecture Social Club, which features detailed paper-cut backdrops. RIBA’s own office window has also been given decorative overlay designed by CAN + Nina Shen Poblete, inspired by “the humble breezeblock”.

Also taking part are Projects Office, which has designed a window for Uniqlo and Bureau de Change, with a display for Charles Tyrwhitt, plus Matheson Whiteley, KSR Architects, Design Haus Liberty, Piercy & Company with Electrolight, Aleksa Studio, and Knox Bhavan with Susie MacMurray.

The temporary installations take over the shop windows on London’s Regent Street until 25 September, aiming to showcase the practices in a public space that will be seen by over a million people every week.
