Illustrator Jean Jullien has collaborated with London-based studio Otherway on an identity for Jean-Georges at The Connaught, a new restaurant at the Mayfair Hotel. Encompassing Jean’s lighthearted style, the identity aims to “deliver a more contemporary and playful take on the brand within the richness and heritage backdrop of the Connaught”, bringing a touch of fun to the luxury environment.

The branding, which was art directed by Otherway and executed by Jean, is inspired by the hotel’s association with art, its sense of fun and world-renowned chef Jean-Georges’ eclectic food.

A set of menus, business cards, matchboxes, takeaway afternoon tea boxes and pizza boxes branded in gold foil have all been applied with the new branding. Set against a palette of white, gold and red, Jean’s illustrations see him depict an array of happy characters including a knife and fork on a dinner date, an dippy egg man, and a waiter pouring tea into a giant tea cup.
