BBC unveils animated Rio Olympics trailer by Againstallodds and RKCR/Y&R

The BBC has unveiled an animated trailer by Againstallodds for its Rio Olympics coverage. The Swedish studio worked with animation house Passion Pictures — which also produced the BBC’s London 2012 Olympic Games campaign — to create the spot for agency RKCR/Y&R.

The trailer shows animals training in Rio’s Tijuca Forest. A gymnastic sloth, sprinting leopards, volleyball-playing monkeys, a weight-lifting armadillo, a hammer-throwing anteater and synchronised diving crocodiles all make an appearance in the short, which ends with the animals transforming into athletes surveying the Rio landscape.

The Greatest Show on Earth animation is soundtracked by Not Gonna Break Me by British musician Jamie N Commons, and premiered after the Wimbledon final on Sunday 10 July.
