Designs for London’s new Crossrail trains’ interiors have been unveiled, for which Barber & Osgerby acted as design advisors for TfL.The trains are scheduled to start running from May 2017, and are more than one and half times longer than the current longest London Underground train. Each train will be formed of nine interconnected carriages that passengers can walk through. The trains will have free wi-fi and interior features include darker floors and lighter ceilings to create feelings of openness. The designs were advised on by Barber & Osgerby and developed with TfL and Derby-based manufacturer Bombardier.
