Somehow, the end of the year is approaching and the V&A has taken to Twitter to release an eclectic list of major exhibitions for 2017. The Pink Floyd: Their Mortal Remains will celebrate 50 years since the release of the band’s debut single, looking at sound and set, print and poster designs, whilst Balenciaga: Shaping Fashion will look at the work of one of the most influential couture designers of the last century: Spanish designer Cristóbal Balenciaga. The exhibition will be the first featuring Balenciaga in the country, and will mark a century since the designer opened his first fashion house in Basque coastal-town San Sebastian. Fittingly, 100 items of clothing and 20 hats will be displayed, showing the hyper detailed craftsmanship of the designer and his house, alongside photos, fabric swatches and film.

A third exhibition planned for next year orbits around the creative partnership of A. A. Milne and E. H. Shepherd on Winnie the Pooh. Winnie-the-Pooh: Exploring A Classic will show the development of Pooh and friends through a collection of pencil sketches, proofs, photos and letters.

A complete list of exhibitions is available via the museum’s Twitter. The Pink Floyd Exhibition: Their Mortal Remains presented by the V&A, Pink Floyd and Iconic Entertainment Studios Sound Experience by Sennheiser will run 13 May – 1 October 2017, Balenciaga: Shaping Fashion will run 27 May 2017 – 18 February 2018 and Winnie-the-Pooh: Exploring A Classic will be 16 December 2017 – 8 April 2018.
