Intimacy, underwear and internet pop-ups in VLF Studio's slick redesign of Under the Influence

Date
27 June 2016

London and Paris-based VLF Studio has redesigned Under the Influence for its 16th issue, which takes the theme Private. The studio, comprised of Thomas Cristiani and Antoine Roux has taken the magazine in a similarly minimal direction to before, allowing bold use of typography and negative space to speak volumes.

Under the Influence aims to be as much a “cultural artefact” as a magazine, with each issue taking an individual theme around which images, essays and interviews are commissioned. In this Private issue, features include discussions of “the relationship between activism and art, architecture as catharsis, radical intimacy in Japanese photography, other people’s underwear, internet pop-up girls and corporate personality.”
