Tim Simmons: Urban Land Project

Date
26 September 2011

Photographer Tim Simmons is bringing a little bit of the natural environment to the urban surroundings of Los Angeles and Philadelphia. The three-part, bi-coastal installation features murals, billboards and projections in the two cities. Commissioned by The Anthropologist, the project aims to prompt people traveling in and around the cities to pause and consider their relationship with the world around them, and as this slideshow demonstrates it packs a powerful punch.

Speaking on his website Tim explains: “The project is intended to stimulate awareness through its framed representations of the natural world within the wider urban context”.

For more information on the project and for full details of where you can find the work check the The Anthropologist website.
