Sculptor turned illustrator Fabrice Le Nezet has produced a series of architectural illustrations

Sculptor, animator and now illustrator Fabrice le Nezet has produced a series of beautifully architectural prints. Although Monolith is a monochromatic collection of illustrations, Fabrice cites his previous work as the starting point for this piece of work.

“Even though my project was to create a print series, I approached it in a similar way to my sculpture work. I designed those compositions imagining those were actually made out of concrete and metal, working to find the right balance and rhythm between the bodies and lines,” he says.

Inspired by architecture and children’s playgrounds, Fabrice’s series of clean, three-dimensional compositions are built around a central form, much like a monolith. Considering the properties of his preferred media, Fabrice has reflected the limitations of materials such as concrete and metal in the movements of fine lines and smaller three-dimensional objects that intersect and frame the monoliths whilst suspending them, motionless, in an environment void of gravity.
