The life of the party: invite-only affairs as photographed by Rebecca Smeyne

Date
14 March 2016

New York-based photographer Rebecca Smeyne’s record of life behind-the-scenes at fashion weeks, galas and celebrity parties includes a delectable mix of mid-gasp expressions, tense phone conversations, bitchy resting face and Valentino doing karaoke amongst many other strange moments of life in the fancy lane. Her work has taken her to a party hosted for Dolly Parton at Annie Leibovitz’ studio, the Brooklyn Museum Gala and Diddy’s mansion for a party for Drake during Art Basel.

As well as masterful celebrity spotting, Rebecca shoots portraits and editorial photography for clients including The New York Times Magazine, Vice and Pitchfork amongst many others and has a degree in sociology from Columbia.
