A Warhol-based app designed by interactive theatre geniuses Punchdrunk

Punchdrunk are usually responsible for things like guiding you round a complex maze of sand, trees, fallen heroines and interweaving narratives thanks to their stunning interactive theatre productions. Now though, they’re revealing the results of a far more intricate wee project, an Andy Warhol-inspired app.

The app, Silverpoint, was developed as a collaboration with Absolut vodka with digital agency Somethin’ Else, and is based on Warhol’s blotted-line drawings of the same name, which he used to replicate images. Just as participants in Punchdrunk shows meander through various scraps of narrative and interaction to form a final resolution, so users of the app gradually work through snippets of information to work through the mystery of the disappearance of a woman named Chloe. It’s great to see an imaginative piece of branded content taking practitioners renowned for one medium and tasking them with a project in one that’s very, very different.
