Minimalism, Football and Kipling - tickets for Nicer Tuesdays March are now on sale!

Date
8 March 2016

We are excited to introduce the four speakers who will be appearing at this month’s Nicer Tuesdays, taking place on 29 March.

We will be hearing from Tim Williams, creative director at Design Studio, following the grand unveiling of the new logo for the Premier League to be introduced next season. The company has provided a fresh take on the iconic and familiar lion logo that was introduced when the league was inaugurated in the 1992/93 season.

Also appearing will be illustrator Robert Hunter who has just released his modern take on Rudyard Kipling’s classic tale The Jungle Book. The reimagining not only includes new illustrations,  the story is retold in Robert’s words and is accompanied by animations created in collaboration with Blink.

Our third speaker is Stuart Tolley, creative director and founder of Transmission. Stuart is the author of Min: The New Simplicity in Graphic Design and will be talking about the book and attitudes to minimalism in graphic design. Throughout his career he has worked at Sleazenation, Independent on Saturday Magazine and Esquire and has previously written two books that combine his passion for design, music and publishing.

Completing the line up is Elly Ward, director and co-founder of Ordinary Architecture.  The RIBA Journal has described Elly along with other prominent young practitioners as “some of the most interesting emerging talent in architecture today.” A graduate of the RCA and a visiting lecturer and design tutor at the University of Westminster, Elly will be talking about the work of her practice that “strives to make ordinary things beautiful and invest meaning in objects however grand or humble.”
