Hip hop, Johnston100, and unexpected connections - get Nicer Tuesdays tickets now!

Hip hop, human connections, soundscapes and a classic type rebirth are all on the agenda at July’s Nicer Tuesdays.

Hip-hop magazine Brick has just launched issue two, so we’ll hear from founder and creative director Hayley Louisa Brown on the creation of her “second album”. Most notably the issue features a vibrant tribute to A Tribe Called Quest founding member Phife Dawg, with eclectic contributions from artists and designers responding to the rapper’s most quotable lines.

Following his recent London show Everything Connects, Supermundane’s Rob Lowe will be discussing humans’ obsession with connections, both expected and unexpected. The show featured new paintings, prints and slogan pieces, all politically charged and fused by his typically vivid use of colour.

Malou Verlomme, senior type designer at Monotype, will give insight into the much-talked-about redesign of Transport for London’s Johnston typeface. The revamp, named Johnston100, brings the 1916 typeface with its humanist feel and classical proportions, into this century with a bang.

Music and sound studio Zelig Sound has been working on sound design projects for the likes of Nike, MTV, the BBC and HBO for the last six years. Matthew Wilcock, once called “the most eclectic producer in London” by NME, and composer Aleah Morrison-Basu from the studio will be chatting about their latest projects.

Tickets are available now for 26 July.
