Benedict Brink is shaking up fashion photography

Date
22 August 2017

Benedict Brink never set out to be a photographer, but after securing an arts degree, she changed tact on the advice of a friend — and, judging by her bursting portfolio, never looked back.

The New York-based photographer has carved a niche as one of fashion’s more offbeat up and coming photographers, her film-shot images reveal a unique eye for casting which, combined with a natural aptitude for portraiture, has landed her spots in all the magazines you’d expect, among them Dazed, Sleek, W magazine, 1 Granary, Office magazine, Oyster magazine, Grit magazine and Re-Edition.

Benedict may have shot campaigns for Adidas Originals and Gap, but her works sits firmly outside the commercial, instead clinging tightly to the effortless cool which makes it so magnetic. Case in point: sift through and you might spot Erin O’Connor lounging her way into Benedict’s portfolio.
